MOST ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS RUBBER PAVING?
Consists of rubber granules or shred bound with a polyurethane resin to form a continuous, seamless surface.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL?
This depends on the size of project. Typically one day for most average sized projects and up to a week+ for larger playground applications.
DOES COLOUR FADE?
Not really, colour fading is accelerated with a high UV rate. Canada has a low UV rate thus a very slow fade rate. In addition to this, for half of the years the rubber is typically cover by snow which prevents the exposure to UV rates.
HOW DO I CLEAN RUBBER?
Summer: you can easily spray water with a garden hose to clean the surface or if you prefer to use a high pressure washer you can, as long as you maintain a safe distance 2-3 feet above your rubber.
Winter: A great thing about rubber during winters is that it makes it easy to clean, technically ice doesn't build up over the surface, you can easily shovel or blow snow from the surface.
DOES RUBBER SMELL?
No, smells vanish within 24- 48 hours after product installation date.
DOES RUBBER CRACK?
Rubber is an incredibly resistant and flexible material, unlike concrete or asphalt that crack overtime, rubber can easily be installed in difficult areas such as around existing playground equipment, tree roots, pathways and due to its flexibility the surface will require minimal to no maintenance.
HOW LONG DOES RUBBER LAST?
It is very resistant and flexible with both high and low temperatures. It is also more cost effective over it's life span; will generally last between 15 to 20+ years.
IS RUBBER SURFACING AFFORDABLE?
Rubber is up to 30%-40% cheaper than concrete and other hard surfacing options. It is an excellent way to resurface your driveway at an affordable budget and has many additional benefits.
